'Robbers came out of police booth & attacked my father'

New Delhi: The family of a 60-year-old man who was brutally stabbed by a group of juveniles on Monday night has levelled serious allegations against the police. The family has said that their father before collapsing at Zakhira flyover, Anand Parbat where he was attacked told them that the attackers came out of the police booth and attacked him with a knife multiple times.

"My father while holding his stomach from where the blood was oozing told me that the attackers came out of the Anand Parvat police post at Zakhira Flyover. This is shocking how could the assailants sit inside the police post. Where were the policemen at that time, catching the accused is not enough action against erring policemen should also be taken," said Priya, daughter of 60-year-old Jaswant.

Jaswant, a show designer at Tank Road and a resident of Nehru Nagar in Central Delhi was returning from Haridwar along with his nephew Vijay and friend Dayal. Dayal and Vijay stayed back to relive themselves while Jaswant was the first to come down the stairs and was caught by the robbers who stabbed him multiple times before snatching his gold chain, purse and mobile. "Police Post is meant for our safety, how could it be used by criminals to hide and loot passerby. Earlier, no policeman sat in the police booth after the incident, the cops have again started sitting inside the booth," said Ravi, elder son of Jaswant.

Blood was seen all over the place just outside the booth where the attackers cornered the old man. Though Delhi police has apprehended 3 CCL in the case but questions are raised over the place of occurance of the attack.
