Rape accused on the run arrested after 11 years

NEW DELHI: The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has arrested a fugitive criminal Md Akhtar, a native of Bihar, who was on the run for more than 11 years. The accused was wanted in a rape case of Kapashera in the year of 2007 and was declared PO in the case. Cash reward of Rs. 25,000 was also declared by Commissioner of Police, Delhi on his arrest.

In June, 2007, the complainant from Delhi lodged an FIR in Kapashera Police Station alleging that his 14-year-old daughter had been kidnapped by Md. Akhtar. During the investigation, the kidnapped minor girl was rescued from Bihar, but accused Md. Akhtar managed to escape.
