'Public libraries necessary to boost children's imagination'

New Delhi: Public libraries not only provide an opportunity but also a solid ground to students for developing their skills and intellectual capacity. Skill development plays a vital role in prosperity and development of the country, said Member of Parliament, Meenakashi Lekhi while speaking after the inauguration of the redeveloped NDMC Public Library at North-West Moti Bagh on Monday. It was a joint initiative of New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC).

Lekhi said that it is necessary to encourage the book reading habits among the children, which helps us build opinion about things in everyday life. She added that reading is useful for the children and youth for boosting imagination.

Appreciating the joint efforts of NDMC to provide modern infrastructure, unique designs and peaceful reading environment, she said that eight more such Public Digital Libraries would be setup by the NDMC in New Delhi area shortly.
