Over 3,800 kg of crackers seized, 26 nabbed in raids

NEW DELHI: A day ahead of Diwali, Delhi Police on Monday said it seized a total of 3,847 kg of firecrackers till Sunday and arrested 26 people from different parts of the Capital in its crackdown against crackers

A total of 29 cases have been registered in various police stations in the city.

As per the records, 227 kg of firecrackers have been seized from East Delhi, where three cases have been registered and three persons have been arrested.

In Shahdara, two cases have been registered and 1,045 kg of crackers have been seized, along with the arrest of three persons.

In North East Delhi, five cases have been registered and 54 kg of firecrackers have been seized, whereas five persons have been arrested.

In North Delhi, the number of cases registered is three, while 659 kg of crackers have been seized and three persons have been arrested.

South East Delhi also recorded three registered cases, along with 72 kg crackers being seized and a person being arrested.

In West Delhi, a total of eight cases – the highest – have been registered and 1,688 kg of crackers have been seized, leading to eight arrests.

Dwarka registered two cases, wherein 37 kg of crackers have been seized and two persons have been arrested.

In Outer Delhi, two cases have been registered and 96 packets of crackers have been confiscated.

In South West Delhi, 64 kg of crackers have been seized, and one person has been arrested with the registration of one case.
