Out to drop kids to school, man gunned down on road

Gurugram: The dangerous trend of bitter enmity ultimately resulting in murder and blood being spilled brazenly on city streets again returned to Gurugram after a brief hiatus. In the latest incident, a 35-year-old man was gunned down in the morning when he was going to drop his kids to the school. The deceased has been identified as Mahesh. His murderers are believed to be his close relatives who fell out with him owing to a property dispute that was festering for over three months.

The incident occurred at Sarai Alwardi near New Palam Vihar when Mahesh had gone to drop his children for school. Waiting for Mahesh for a long time, around three to four men in a black Mahindra Scorpio pursued Mahesh for some time and then after getting an opportune time fired several bullets into him. The brazenness of this act can be gauged from the fact that they committed the murder in front of the children who were travelling in the school bus.

Immediately after ascertaining that the bullets pierced through the victims' body making him unconscious, his murdered fled the spot. The Gurugram police have registered the case under following sections and have begun investigations. They have seized the CCTV images so that the murderers can be identified. The family of the deceased has alleged that the crime was committed by members within the family. After hearing that Mahesh had succumbed due to his injuries, his family members along with the locals blocked the area demanding quick and fair justice for Mahesh.
