One shot at in failed robbery bid in Ggn sweet shop

Gurugram: Panic prevailed at the HUDA Market in Sector-46 here after a group of masked burglars opened fire during rush hour inside a famous Om Sweets outlet.

Cops said the incident took place on Tuesday afternoon when burglars broke into the sweet shop-cum-restaurant, frequented by a large number of customers daily.

Unable to steal any amount of cash, the men fired incessant gunshots inside the shop, which struck one of the employees , after which the culprits fled.

The injured was immediately admitted to a nearby hospital, where his condition is stable.

Immediately after the shooting, police rushed to the scene of crime and filed a cases under relevant sections of IPC.

It is still not known whether the act committed by burglars or by an organised gang with influence in Gurugram.

"We are trying to find out who the miscreants were. We hope to get hold of them soon. We are trying get some vital leads from the CCTV images that have captured the images," said a Gurugram Police official.

It may be noted that in June, two members of Kaushal gang shot at a cashier at Harish Bakery in Gurugram, after its owners refused to comply with their demand to pay extortion money.

A few days after this incident, a businessman in Sector-31 area had filed a complaint that in order to intimidate him and force him to pay protection money, some members of a gang had fired gunshots at his vehicle.
