One dies, several injured in separate fire incidents

Noida/ Greater Noida: One person has died while around seven persons suffered serious burn injuries in over half a dozen incidents of fire reported from various parts of twin cities Noida and Greater Noida.

In first incident which was reported on Diwali morning, from sector 22 area of Noida, a 45-year-old man who runs a grocery in the area allegedly died while four other persons suffered severe burn injuries when the building they reside caught fire. Police officials said that they were refilling a cylinder when a blast occurred and the building caught fire.

In other incidents of fire, a house in sector Alpha-II of Greater Noida caught fire while bursting crackers on Diwali evening. The residents alleged that their neighbours have tried to set them ablaze and intentionally directed a flying firecracker into their house. However, no causality was reported in the incident but goods worth lakhs was charred in the incident.

Another incident was reported from Mahagun Mywood society of Greater Noida West where an apartment caught fire. Police officials said that the reason why the fire broke out is still not clear.
