NEW DELHI: In a first of its kind, Delhi Police on Sunday said it has registered a case and booked a 30-year-old man for bursting crackers ahead of Diwali in Ghazipur area of east Delhi.

A resident of Mayur Vihar phase-III had approached police with a complaint claiming that his neighbour's children were bursting firecrackers outside his flat door on November 1. This continued even after the neighbour Damandeep returned from office at around 8.30 pm.

However, when the complainant asked the neighbour to tell his children not do burst crackers, the latter got into a scuffle with him.

"We have registered a case under Section 188 of IPC. Legal action will follow," said DCP (East) Pankaj Singh.
