'No one in Delhi will suffer from hunger'

New Delhi: Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who is also a sitting MLA from Patparganj visited his constituency on Tuesday to ensure that the Delhi government arranged for food distribution and shelter facilities for those affected in New Delhi.

He promised that no one would be suffering in such tough times as he highlighted the consistent efforts of the Delhi government relief team, which is working day in and day out to ensure food is provided to everyone in need. "No one in Delhi will suffer from hunger. We have ensured ample flow of food to 10 centres in Patparganj itself. We'll get through #COVID19 together," he tweeted.

Sisodia also said in his tweet that 10 schools in Patparganj constituency have been assigned the task of providing food to 15,000-20,000 people everyday. The Delhi government's relief team is also actively working to ensure food is accessible to the poor in each mohalla, ward and the area of Patparganj constituency.

10 schools that have been converted to food distribution centres include Government Co-ed Senior Secondary School in Chilla, RSKV West Vinod Nagar, RSKV in J J Colony Khichripur, MCD Primary School in Dhobi Ghat, RSKV/SBV East Vinod Nagar, RSKV/SBV Patparganj, RSKV/ SBV in Mandawali, RSKV/SBV in Mandawali, EDMC Primary school in Chander Vihar and EDMC Primary School in Mandawali Village.

Stating that this is the fifth day of food distribution at schools in Patparganj, Sisodia also stressed on how the officials and staff were strictly

practising physical distancing while handing out cooked meals to the people queued up at the centres.
