NMRC sets up bus route charts for ease of commuters

With around 50 hi-tech city buses plying on the seven major routes of Noida, the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) plans to roll out measures to facilitate more passengers.

The NMRC has embedded route charts on all these buses to provide the passengers with proper information about all routes and fares of the buses.

While speaking to Millennium Post, Sandeep Raizada, officer on special duty, NMRC said: "Apart from the bus stops, NMRC has implanted these route charts at three points, on the front and back portion of each bus. All the bus stops have electronic display boards. These boards display the information, including the time remaining for the arrival of the next bus. Such initiatives are being taken up to make the city bus service one of the most prominent and effective modes of public transport".

"We are also planning to launch a mobile application for the users, which will provide them with all the information needed regarding the buses, such as arrival time and tracking of the bus. The app will be launched soon," added Raizada.

Currently, around 50 buses are operational in Noida on seven major routes. NMRC was supposed to launch hundred buses in the first phase, which included 50 air-conditioned and 50 non-air conditioned buses.

Out of the proposed number, the 50 air-conditioned buses are already in operation, while the other 50 are soon to be launched. The buses ply from Botanical Garden to Noida Sector-61, while passing through City Centre, Sector-71 and Sector-62.

NMRC is also running a call centre service from the depot for commuters to lodge complaints or inquire about services. A toll-free number, 1800 180 0555, and mobile phone number, 9868394969, has been provided for commuters to get any information.
