22-yr-old arrested for rape, molestation of younger sisters

In a shocking incident, a 22-year-old man allegedly raped one of his younger sisters and molested the other at their residence in West Delhi's Tilak Nagar area, according to police sources.

Police said that the man, identified as Shanky, was arrested from his residence soon after the incident was reported on Sunday afternoon. He had been sexually assaulting his sisters for the past one year.

During interrogation, the man told the cops that he had continually been raping his sister since April last year. Over this period, he confessed, that he had also been molesting his 13-year-old sister.

Police said that since their father had died in April last year and mother suffered from cancer, the accused, had taken advantage of the situation.

The girls, aged 13 and 17, told the cops that they did not tell anyone about the incident but informed one of their friends, who later informed her father about the incident as he works with an NGO.

Police said that they have booked the man under the sections of rape, molestation and POCSO Act.
