MVC-IV report: SDMC to invite suggestions

New Delhi: The fourth Municiapal Valuation Committee (MVC) was constituted to submit recommendations on re-classification of colonies and new rates of unit area value. The Committee has submitted its interim report on which SDMC has given its nod to invite objections and suggestions from general public by downloading it on public domain i.e website.

The Committee has recommended classification of 1,398 colonies from A to H-1 class and has also recommended per sq. mtr. unit area value for the colonies. The Committee has also recommended no change in occupancy and structure factors. New category H-1 has been created with base unit area value Rs. 130/per sqmtr for new colonies, i.e. unauthorized colonies, slum/JJ Colonies and rural villages.

Category of 3 and 4 star hotels to be treated under 'B' with factor 4, whereas 5 star and above hotels to be treated under "A" with use factor 5, irrespective of its location. Special properties i.e. show rooms/mega stores/restaurants between 1,500 sqft and 2,499 sqft to be categorized as 'B' with factor 4 and 2500 sqft and above to be as 'A' with factor 5 irrespective of its location.

Motels to be treated at par with Barat Ghars and Banquet Halls and attract factor of 4. Factor 4 for Telecom Towers.
