Murder accused held

New Delhi: The crime branch of Delhi Police, after a brief exchange of fire, arrested a murder accused from Dhulsiras area of Dwarka sector 23. The accused has been identified as Darshan Dabas, a resident of village Sawda. Last year he along with his associates had fired eight rounds at one Kalu Banjara which resulted in his death. A reward of Rs 50,000 was declared on him.

DCP (crime) Rajesh Deo said they received information on November 6 that the accused would be coming at village Dhulsiras in Dwarka Sector 23. A team under ACP Jasbir Singh was formed to arrest the criminal.

"A trap was laid at about 11.25 pm at the spot and one car was seen coming from Dhulsiras towards Dwarka sector 23," said Deo. He added that the car was intercepted by a police vehicle and directed to stop, but the car driver tried to escape. And finally, the accused was arrested after a brief exchange of fire.
