Minor apprehended for raping five-yr-old girl in Gzb

Ghaziabad: In yet another incident of rape committed by a juvenile delinquent in the district, an 11-year-old boy was apprehended by police for allegedly raping a five-year-old girl in Muradnagar area on Friday evening.

Police on Sunday said that the victim was lying in a pool of blood when some local residents found her.

They added that the victim – a kindergarten student – and the juvenile accused – a boy studying in Class III – belong to labour class families and live in the same locality in Muradnagar village.

Arvind Kumar Maurya, Superintendent of Police (Rural), said that the girl was raped while she was playing with the accused boy at a nearby vacant plot.

"The victim's father, in his complaint, told police that his daughter was playing outside their house when the accused juvenile took her to a nearby plot, on the pretext of buying her some food items," Maurya said.

"When the girl raised an alarm, locals rushed to the spot and found the girl lying in a pool of blood. The boy immediately fled after the incident. The girl narrated the incident to her parents, who took her to a government hospital in Sanjay Nagar," he added.

The senior policeman further said that based on the father's complaint, an FIR has been registered against the boy under Section 376 (rape) of Indian Penal Code as well as sections 4 and 5 of Protection of Child Against Sexual Offences Act.

"Based on the complaint received from the father, we registered an FIR and apprehended the juvenile accused. The girl's condition is stated to be stable and she has been sent to the district hospital for medical examination.

"After getting the medical examination done, the victim will be produced before the magistrate and her statements will be recorded. Meanwhile the boy will be produced before a juvenile court on Monday and further investigations into the case are underway," added Maurya.
