Manager of pharma co, auto driver killed after ramming into dumper

New Delhi: A manager in a reputed pharmaceutical company and an auto driver died while manger's wife and daughter received grievous injuries after an auto-in which they were travelling in- rammed with a dumper at NH-9 flyover near Akshardham Temple early morning on Tuesday, the police said on Wednesday.

The driver, however, fled from the spot.

The family was returning back to Delhi from Kanpur after attending last rites of an elderly woman in the family.

The deceased have been identified as 30-year-old Saurabh and Gulsan Kumar (28), auto rickshaw driver. He succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday afternoon, the police said.

Saurabh's wife Saifali and one and half-year-old daughter Anaya are seriously injured and they are admitted in Max hospital. Saurab worked as marketing manager in a reputed pharmaceutical company, the official said.

The incident took place at around 4:30 to 5 am on Tuesday. Saurabh along with his wife and daughter was travelling in an auto to his rented house in Panchsheel Colony, Faridabad from Anad Vihar Railway station, the Police said.

When they reached near at NH-9 flyover near Akshardham Temple, the speeding auto Gulsan driver lost balance and suddenly rammed with a dumper going forward to him, said the police.

Police received a PCR call regarding the incident and rushed at spot. All four were found seriously injured inside a crushed auto.

They were taken to nearby LBS hospital where the doctors declared Saurabh brought death. Meanwhile Gulshan succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

Looking to serous condition of Saifali and her daughter Anaya, the doctors referred duo to Max hospital in the same area. Both have been kept in intensive care unit under the observation of the doctors.

Saurabh was a native of Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur district. He along with his family had gone to attend last rites of her wife's grandmother who passed away some days ago. Auto rickshaw driver Gulsan Kumar lived in Delhi's Gokulpuri area.

He survived with wife, two children, parents, two brothers and a sister.

A case has been registered against the dumper driver and the investigation has been taken-up.
