Man murders wife's paramour with rod

NEW DELHI: A 28-year old man was murdered by the husband of a lady with whom he was into illicit relationship in Meethapur area of Jaitpur in South East Delhi in the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.

Vinod Yadav was hit in the head by an iron rod by the husband of the lady identified as Kasim Sheikh when he allegedly found them into compromising position.

When the people found the dead body they informed the police at around 12:30 am. Soon, the police team reached the spot and arrested the accused. The crime team visited the spot and collected all the samples from the crime scene.

Kasim Sheikh who worked as a car cleaner and a ragpicker got a whiff of the illicit affair between his wife and a local contractor who resided in the neighbourhood.

It is said that Vinod came to the jhuggi of the accused wherever he was away. On the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday, Kasim returned early and found both red-handed. In a fit of anger, he picked up an iron rod and repeatedly hit Vinod on his head. Vinod died instantly.

"We have registered a case under section 302 and arrested the accused. The deceased was working as a contractor of shuttering for house construction and used to live in rented accommodation nearby. Accused Kasim Sheikh is a resident of Village Chapra Bangalchchi in West Bengal and the iron rod used in the crime has been recovered," said Chinmoy Biswal, DCP South East.

The deceased Vinod Yadav was a resident of Akhmelpur Singhirampur, Farrukhabad in U.P. His family has been informed by the police and the body has been sent for post mortem.
