Man kills wife over suspected affair in south Delhi
A man was arrested on Saturday for murdering his wife in south Delhi's Kotla Mubarakpur area, after he suspected her of having an affair. The accused, identified as Tayyab, was arrested from Noida within 24 hours of the murder.
Shabnam, 35, was found lying unconscious by her landlord after he rushed to their house on hearing cries of the argument between the couple. The landlord found her husband Tayyab to be missing.
He informed the police, who arrived at the couple's rented accommodation with forensic teams to collect evidence.
Shabnam was rushed to the hospital, but was declared brought dead. Her body has been sent for post-mortem.
Police suspected that Tayyab had strangulated his wife and a manhunt was launched to trace him.
They got to know that Tayyab had returned from a gulf country a few days earlier and had suspected his wife to be in an extramarital affair, which was the reason for their fight early Saturday morning.
The couple's children were not home at the time of the murder.
On Saturday evening, a police team nabbed Tayyab from Noida. The police team are now investigating him to find out details of the incident.
