Man arrested for murder in Madipur

New Delhi: The Delhi Police has arrested a person for murdering a man in Madipur area in West Delhi. Police said that altercation over footwear leads to the incident.

The investigating agency said that they received the call around 11 am on Tuesday regarding the incident.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (west) Sameer Sharma said that investigation revealed that one Dwarka Prasad was stabbed by one Ramesh Chand (41) in footwear factory.

"The reason behind the murder was a defect in making footwear. Dwarka had objected accused that he couldn't make proper footwear which led to the altercation and later turned into a scuffle," police said.

The accused, with the help of the sharp-edged tool, attacked Dwarka. He was rushed to hospital where he was declared brought dead at the hospital.

Ramesh Chand was later arrested by a police team from the spot of crime. Additional DCP said that the accused confessed his involvement in the crime.

A case under section 302 (Punishment for murder) of IPC was registered in Punjabi Bagh police station.

Suspect sketch released in Connaught Place robbery

Delhi Police on Tuesday released the sketch of the suspect in Connaught Place robbery case.

Police said that they are making their all-out effort to nab the criminals.

The incident earlier this week a woman and her husband were injured during the robbery.
