Left outfits raise voice over DUSU actions

New Delhi: While Delhi University saw a saffron slum in University elections and surge of NSUI, the red "nationalism" and "free speech" raises the voice over the performance of DUSU.
In a public meet at art faculty of DU, student with left ideologies questioned the function of DUSU. A question that has long haunted DU students, "DUSU aakhir karta kya hai? (What exactly DUSU does?)
Utkarsh, an activist of Student Federation of India said, "NSUI though seeming harmless given the loss of Congress' political power in the country, is the same political force which imposed the Four Year Under-graduate Programme(FYUP) on DU, and has paved the way for the dismantling of the university that we are witnessing today."
He also said that hooliganism, display of money-muscle power or contribution to the students' struggles is concerned, NSUI and ABVP are two sides of the same coin.
Another student for Pinjra Tod said that be it their fight for bus and metro passes, for a working GSCASH, their struggle against privatisation in the name of autonomy, their fight against the gender discriminatory hostel rules or the everyday struggles of the common students never found any space in the DUSU.
