JNU goes into self-promotion mode with 'Jan Jan JNU' programme

New Delhi: Jawaharlal Nehru University, which has been at centre of controversies in recent months, on Friday organised 3rd annual Open Day "Jan Jan JNU" for school children to work as part of its outreach programme committed to integrate and motivate school students into higher education. Around 500 students from nine schools of Delhi, including one from NCR area gathered where different departments had set up their respective stalls acting as information centre for prospective students and also detailed their achievements.

The event held in the convention centre of the University was well attended by students and teachers from prominent schools in Delhi- NCR, including Kendriya Vidyalaya. Dr Jitendra Singh, Minsiter of State graced the occasion as the chief guest. Professor Shandar Ahmad, the convener of the programme introduced the programme. Professor SC Garkoti, Rector II and Chairman of the Open Day welcomed the Chief Guest, young students from various schools and

other guests.
