In broad daylight, rivals shoot gangster dead outside Rohini court

New Delhi: A gangster was shot dead in broad daylight in North West Delhi's Maurya Enclave Pitampura. The assailants who are said to be 4 to 5 in number fired indiscriminately at Monu as he came out of the Rohini court and standing near a pan shop. The pan shop owner Sandeep, 25, has also received bullet injuries and is admitted to the hospital.
Monu Mann, 24, was in Rohini court along with his associate Digvijay in connection with an attempt to murder case of 2014. At around 1 pm on Friday afternoon, a group of men who were probably waiting for the victim, fired at him pumping several bullets in his body before fleeing the spot. Digvijay however, escaped the assault. The whole incident happened on a busy road in front of several people. Monu died on the spot, while the pan shop owner was rushed to the hospital where his condition is said to be critical.
The shootout is said to be the result of rivalry between two gangs, Gogi gang and Tillu gang. The victim Monu is said to be from Gogi gang. It seems that the assailants had done a recce of the area and were tracking the movements of Monu. It was on Friday afternoon when they found an opportunity and attacked him. Several rounds were fired in the incident.
Police teams and forensic teams soon reached the spot and collected all the evidence from the spot. The CCTV footage from the area is also monitored to get some clue about the assailants. Police have registered a case of murder and are looking for the whereabouts of the rival gang to get some clue. The police are also questioning Digvijay who was with the
victim at the time of the shootout.
"We have formed several teams to arrest the accused. He was attacked while he was coming out of Rohini Court where he was present in connection with a 4-year-old attempt to murder case," said a senior police officer.
