Illegal rave party in Noida lands 192 youngsters in jail

Cops confiscated large stock of liquor which was being served without any excise permit

Noida: Gautam Buddh Nagar police, on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, busted an illegally organised "Rave Party" and arrested around 192 persons, including 161 boys and 31 girls, from a farm house in sector 135 area of Noida. Police have seized a large stock of liquor which was being served at the party without any excise permit.

Apart from the youngsters who had come to attend the party, police arrested the owner of farmhouse Amit Tyagi, resident of Delhi and four co-organisers, identified as Kapil Singh, a native of Ghaziabad, Pankaj Sharma, Adnan and Balesh Kohli, all natives of Delhi.

Vaibhav Krishna, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Gautam Buddh Nagar conducted the raid along with other senior police officials and teams from sector 39 and SWAT police team.

"Acting on a tip-off from an informer, a raid was put into force at the spot around 1 am on Sunday. It was found that the a rave party was being organised by a few persons which started at 10 pm while no permission to serve liquor was taken from the excise department and there was no information of such a public gathering. Moreover the liquor which was being served there was restricted for sale in Delhi and Haryana only" said Krishna.

The officer further said that organisers have conveyed party over social media against an entry fee of Rs 10, 000 which was only for men while the entry of girls was free.

"The organisers had created as Facebook page in the name of 'Saturday pool party'. Around nine girls out of 31 arrested were also called by the organisers to entertain the guests and serve liquor and food items at the table. These girls were paid Rs 1, 000 per girl for the night while an additional 10 per cent commission against the guest's bill, they were serving, was also promised to them" added Krishna.

Krishna also told reporters that the arrested youngsters are mostly students and belong to Delhi and Haryana.

"The arrested youths are mostly students and had come to the party by their cars and motorcycle which have also been seized by police. Around 39 cars and 9 bikes have been seized by the police from the spot. Apart from this the organised also confessed to police that they have organised dozens of such rave parties in the past too" said Krishna.

Police have seized 31 hookahs, including five big and 26 smaller hookah, 112 filled bottles of beer which were restricted for sale in Delhi only, 30 other imported alcohol bottles, 11 packets of hookah tobacco, five packets of coal and DJ equipment from the spot while the arrested were sent to jail after producing before the court.

"The arrested persons have been booked under sections 60/63/72 of the Excise act along with IPC sections 268 (Public nuisance), 278 (Making atmosphere noxious to health), 188 (Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant), 59 of the Food Safety and Standards act 2006 and 5(3)(4) of the Ciggerettes and other Tobacco act, 2003. They were were sent to jail after being produced in the court on Sunday," the officer said.

The officer also cautioned students and youngsters to avoid invitation to such rave parties as they could land into serious troubles and spoil their career. Meanwhile police have not recovered any drugs from the spot while it was revealed that the local police were working hand in glove with the party organisers.
