How to tackle snatchers on streets!

New Delhi: With sudden surge in snatching cases in the Capital, there is an immediate need to make people aware of the effective ways to tackle snatching on the streets. Though Delhi Police is doing all it could to bring the snatching figures down, but there are certain precautions one could take to keep snatchers at bay. Most of us have a habit of checking our mobile phones frequently while on road. Holding a mobile in hand on road always gives an open invitation to snatchers who carefully select their prey based on road connectivity. The better the connectivity, the more the chances for snatchers to flee. Avoid using mobiles on roads until it becomes necessary. Even if you are a right-handed, try using the phone on the left ear if you are walking on the left side of the road and vice-versa. Using the phone on the left ear will make it difficult for the snatchers to snatch the phone from the opposite side of the face. This is an automatic deterrence. Many cases of snatching have been reported while the commuters were sitting in the autorickshaw or battery rickshaw. Small measure taken while commuting can keep you and your phone safe on the roads.
