Hot air balloons, UAVs banned till in city Aug 15

A fortnight ahead of Independence Day, Delhi Police have imposed a ban on the use of paragliders, paramotors, hang gliders, UAVs, UASs, microlight aircrafts, remotely piloted aircrafts, hot air balloons, small size powered aircrafts, quadcopters or even by parajumping from aircraft, over the jurisdiction of National Capital Territory of Delhi until August 15.
Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik issued the order on Monday, following inputs that certain criminal, anti-social elements or terrorists inimical to India may pose a threat to the safety of the general public, dignitaries and vital installations by the use of sub-conventional aerial platforms.
The cops would keep a close watch on the order issued and all senior officials of Delhi Police have been briefed about the restrictions.
