Haryana CM takes note of complaints by Ggn homebuyers

Gurugram: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lala Khattar has taken cognizance of a large number of complaints registered during the Chief Minister's Window on the issue of builders levying exorbitant maintenance fee from buyers.

He has now directed the Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) to bring in a law wherein the fee can be adjusted with the registration and be therefore reduced.

On the pretext of maintenance and administration, builders are allegedly demanding exorbitant sums from homebuyers in Gurugram.

In most cases, the maintenance fee amounts to one or two per cent of the total cost at which the house was purchased. This means if a flat is purchased at a price of Rs two crore in Gurugram, a buyer will have to shell out Rs two lakh more for maintenance.
