Gurugram DC orders shifting of tax collection centres

The tax collection point for taxis will be shifted to Dhanchari area in Gurugram as the decision to shift it came after the recent visit by the Deputy Commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh where it was observed that large number of taxis stopping at the collection point was causing huge traffic jams along NH-8.
"Since it takes some time for the taxi drivers to pay their taxes to the agents, the stoppage of vehicles on the road is seen as a major factor towards causing traffic blockades. We have therefore decided to shift the collection point from Sirhaul to Dhanchari," said DC Vinay Pratap Singh.
"There are thousands of cabs that stop at the area and this really slows down the traffic. I hope the shifting of the tax collection point will be a useful step in reducing the jams at NH-8," said Aman Chugh who uses the route on daily basis for commuting to his office.
Besides the stoppages of large number of cab vehicles, large scale construction activities that are happening along the major intersection of NH-8 also proves to be another reason for traffic blockades at the Delhi-Jaipur highway. The NHAI officials on their part claim that the deadline for construction of underpasses and flyovers at the National Highway will meet it s deadline.
