GNIDA issues notice to Supertech builder

Greater Noida: The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has issued a notice to Supertech builder after the residents of Supertech Ecovillage-II project in Greater Noida West staged protests over shortage of water from past one week which was caused by the failure of water pumps. The authority has asked the builder to immediately act on the complaint of the residents or they have to face actions.

As per a senior GNIDA official, the notice was issued after a team visited the site and found malfunctioning in the boost pumps which were meant to supply water to the flats.

"The authority had carried out an inspection at the society and found that out of the three booster pumps installed at the society, two were in the malfunctioned state. Only a single booster pump was working due to which, the required amount of water did not reach the tanks which led to water crisis," said a senior officer of Greater Noida.

The authority has asked the builder to address the matter at the earliest and also warned of action if he fails to improve the situation.

The issue started last Monday following the malfunctioning of one of the water pump which supplies water to flats. By the time the pump was repaired, water tanks of the 20 towers of society had run dry, which resulted in the severe water crisis. However, the management had arranged water tankers and bottles to compensate for the shortage of water but that didn't bring any relief to the residents.
