Girl's body found in Mundka: DCW sends notice to cops

New Delhi: The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) on Wednesday took cognisance of a case where a girl's mutilated body was discovered in a farm in Mundka Industrial Area and issued a notice to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer).

The Commission further said upper half of her body was missing and is yet to be found.

In its notice, DCW stated it is inquiring into the gruesome murdered and has asked Delhi Police to give it a copy of the FIR in the incident, the status report of the investigation and a copy of the post-mortem report.

Details of the girl and her family and the circumstances under which she was murdered are yet to be revealed.

"In case the girl is yet to be identified, please provide complete details of the steps taken to identify her," the DCW notice stated.

On October 15, Delhi Police had said that the decomposed lower portion of a girl's body was found in a forest in outer Delhi's Mundka.

Cops suspect that the body was dumped in the jungles adjacent to the peripheral road connecting Mundka and Gurgaon, around 10 to 15 days ago.

A skull has also been found, but police said it will be difficult to identify the girl since her the upper portion of the body is missing.

"We are investigating the case from all angles and probe is going on to identify her," sources said, adding that it is possible that the murder happened somewhere else.
