Geeta Colony road rage case solved, two robbers arrested

New Delhi: Three men who stabbed a 35-year-old man at Geeta Colony in an alleged road rage incident were robbers and were returning after robbing a man in Shakarpur on December 10. Two of them have been arrested and have been identified as Aftab and Ramesh, both residents of Geeta Colony. The victim, Sushil Chauhan, was a resident of New Usmanpur's Brahampuri and was returning along with his five friends including three girls in his car. The robbers, three in number on a Scooty and a bike, smashed their Scooty against his car at Geeta Colony. An altercation took place between them. During the argument, the Scooty rider had a fire arm while another person with a knife came to the spot. Chauhan died of the stab wound on his thigh. Sushil is said to be having a small factory of cloth stitching and cutting. The deceased had been survived by wife and a daughter.

Cops soon swung into action and sketches of the accused were prepared. The teams of Gandhi Nagar Sub-Division swung into action for collecting information about all local criminals who could be involved in this kind of incidents. Over 40 criminals of the area were checked for matching the descriptions given by the complainants.

"We got our first lead when it was revealed that another call had been received the same night about a man being attacked with a knife in Shakarpur and being robbed of his bag. The complainant of that incident was thoroughly examined to get the description of the three assailants. The description matched with that of in the Geeta Colony incident witnesses," said DCP Shahdara Meghna Yadav.

Cops say that the assailants were in a hurry to flee after they snatched the bag of the Shakarpur victim. However, their scooty bumped into Sushil Chauhan's car. This made the robbers furious and in order to leave the spot early, they stabbed Sushil who tried to engage them into an argument.

Police also identified the third accused and the teams have been formed to trace him.
