GDA to now approve building plans online within 24 hours

Ghaziabad: Aiming to provide a relief to citizens and bring transparency, the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) will now approve building maps, under all residential and industrial plot's scheme, through online medium. Officials said that the new facility will come into affect from Monday, September 30th.

As per a senior GDA officer, building plans on land measuring 300 metre or less will be approved within 24 hours without any manual interface, while those in bigger plots will be sanctioned within a month.

"Earlier people have to face issues and delay for sanctioning the building plans but in order to ease the process and following directions from the state government, the GDA board has also implemented online approval of maps which will come into affect from Monday. The process will automate from online form submission which will be directly monitored and approved by the software for plot size measuring 300 meters or less. Such maps will be approved within 24 hours while for bigger plots, a time of 30 days has been fixed," said Anita C Meshram, Meerut divisional commissioner and Chairman GDA.

Detailing over the new software, a senior GDA official said that once a person apply for online map approval, the software will scrutinize the plan according to the building bylaws of the GDA. The information furnished by the applicant will be verified by a junior engineer instantly.

Apart from this, Meshram said that GDA will now allow compounding once in under-construction projects. Which mean that the floor area ratio will be purchased only once at the time of map approval.

The move will refrain builders from doing unauthorised construction in group housing societies, said Meshram, adding that an inspection will also be conducted at the level of junior and executive engineers to monitor any deviation in original layout

plan.

The decision was taken in GDA's 154th board meeting chaired by Meshram. GDA Vice-Chairperson Kanchan Verma, district magistrate Ghaziabad Ajay Shankar Pandey and other senior GDA officials remained present in the meeting.
