Gangster held after exchange of fire in Dwarka

NEW DELHI: A close associate of gangster Kapil Sangwan was apprehended by the Delhi Police following an exchange of fire in Dwarka in the early hours of Monday. The accused has been identified as Kuldeep Rathi. He was wanted in several cases of murder, attempt to murder, extortion and kidnapping in Delhi-NCR. Kuldeep Rathi sustained a bullet injury to the leg during the exchange of fire with personnel of the Special Cell of Delhi Police. The Special Cell has been receiving information about the movements of Kapil Sangwan and his gang members. A team was deployed to locate their hideouts and identify their close associates.

The multidimensional effort tested another success when the team managed to zero-down on the whereabouts of one of its key members Kuldeep Rathi (33) and arrested him on Thursday morning. "Kuldeep Rathi was arrested last time in case under section 25 Arms Act. After getting bail in 2017, in these cases, he did not surrender and was on run since then. Hence, he was also declared a Proclaimed Offender," said Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, DCP Special Cell.
