Gang running fake maids agency busted

New Delhi: Delhi Police busted a gang running fake maids agency in West Delhi area. Police claimed that they have arrested eleven persons including four females.
Police claimed that one complainant lodged a complaint that he came in contact with Anju Placement Agency and hired a maid. He gave Rs 25,000 to the agency as per the discussion over phone. After some time, he noticed that the maid slipped out of the house without informing him. The complainant made repeated calls on the numbers provided by the placement agency but all the numbers were found to be switched off.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (west) Vijay Kumar stated that during the investigation they nabbed two accused. On interrogation, both the accused disclosed that they have a gang who used to cheat `the people on the pretext of providing housekeeping maids. At their instance, rest of the gang members were also arrested from the area of Sai Enclave, Gautam Budh Nagar (UP).
"The cheaters used to work as a syndicate under well-planned conspiracy. They got registered a fake placement service on the Quikr and Just Dial and provide their mobile numbers on the above networking sites. The persons who used to contact them on the given mobile numbers were provided the maid and money was received from them," said the DCP.
He further added that the maid in a pre-planned manner used to flee from the house after few hours or 1-2 days. After that, they switched-off their mobile numbers and used to register a new placement agency on the networking sites with a new name and new mobile numbers.
