Gambling racket busted, 100 arrested in Rajouri Garden

NEW DELHI: Days before Diwali, Delhi police busted a gang of gamblers in Rajouri Garden, West Delhi. One hundred gamblers including one organiser have been arrested for gambling. Delhi police also recovered Rs 21.58 lakh, 7,434 gambling chips amounting to Rs 1.83 crore. The team of Rajouri Garden place has arrested 100 high profile gamblers including one organizer, from the basement of a house in Vishal Enclave, Rajouri Garden and recovered stake money of Rs 21.58 lakh, 7,434 gambling chips amounting to Rs 1.83 crore, three walkie talkies, five hookas, 27 imported scotch bottles and two calculators from the spot.

On the intervening night of November 5-6, an information was received at Rajouri Garden police station that some persons are indulging in gambling in the basement of a house located in Vishal Enclave, Rajouri Garden. This information was shared with the senior officers and immediately a special team was formed for the raid.

"Subudhi, ACP Rajouri Garden was formed to conduct a raid and apprehend the criminals involved in this crime. The team acted swiftly and conducted raid in the basement of House number A-23, Vishal Enclave, Rajouri Garden and arrested 100 persons, including one organizer, indulged in gambling," said Monika Bhardwaj, DCP West.
