DUSIB steps in to improve conditions in JJ clusters

NEW DELHI: Targeting to improve conditions of JJ 'Bastis' across the national capital, the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB) decided to carry out repair and construction works in these area.

The 22nd board meeting of the DUSIB, chaired by the Chief Minister & DUSIB Chairperson Arvind Kejriwal, was held at the Delhi Secretariat on Friday, wherein the board approved several important proposals in the meeting.

The works in JJ 'Bastis' will be completed in one year, said an official present in the meeting. "In a decision which will keep all the Jan Suvidha Complexes of Delhi neat & clean, the board approved engagement of specialized agencies for maintenance of all the 700-Jan Suvidha Complexes in all JJ bastis. These agencies will maintain the complexes by deploying mechanical equipment and will do professional cleaning," the official said.

The board also approved the survey of all JJ bastis in Delhi and issuance of a provisional survey certificate to JJ dwellers having photo of the occupants of the surveyed units.
