DU asks students not to misbehave on Holi
New Delhi: The University of Delhi issued warning to its students that conducting misbehave on the pretext of festival Holi will not be tolerated inside the DU campus, any student found involved in the riot of colours shall be penalised under the "Anti-ragging act" and disciplinary action can also be taken against them. Moreover, a team of teachers has also been constituted.
Sources said that the administration at the varsity is gearing up to stop the holliganism during the festival session and has also issued special direction to the colleges and various department of Delhi University. Moreover, a team of teachers will keep a vigilant over the miscreants during the festive fervor.
"Most of the girls witness several harassment cases during these days. Taking such initiatives are welcome at the premises of the DU," said a student of Delhi University.
"Any student of the varsity, found involved in misbehave act during the Holi would be undergone with an disciplinary action. Moreover, colleges and departments will have to constitute a principal, teachers and student, staff," said official.
DU administration has issued guidelines to colleges and departments in view of security arrangements. It is clear in the guidelines that in-appropriate behaviour will not be accepted in colleges, hostels, departments and in the name of Holi in Northern, Eastern and Southern campus. This time Holi is on March 21, but students start playing Holi before that, official added.
Moreover, the entry at the university campus would be restricted, only person bearing the ID of DU get entry at the premises, and police support has also been sought in the campus to shun the menace of Holi in the campus, said an official.
