Drugs worth Rs 20 crore seized; Nigerian arrested

NEW DELHI: A team of Special Cell of Delhi Police has busted an international drug cartel and arrested a key member of cartel identfied as Oliver Chijike Iheanacho, a Nigerian national. The 40-year-old Oliver was residing at the Hastal village in Uttam Nagar. He has been arrested from Majnu Ka Tila in Delhi. During search, four kg of high-grade heroin worth Rs 20 crore in the international market has been recovered from his possession.
A case under relevant sections of law has been registered by the Special Cell. Oliver disclosed that apart from Indians, people from Afghanistan and some African countries are part of the drug cartel.
"Our team received specific information that one person Oliver of African origin, involved in the supply of heroin would come near Petrol Pump at Majnu Ka Tila to deliver a consignment of heroin to a Punjab-based drug dealer. A trap was laid and he was apprehended by the members of the raiding party. Four kg of high-grade heroin was recovered from his bag," said PS Kushwah, DCP, Special cell.
