Drive against encroachment undertaken in SDMC zones

New Delhi: Complying with instructions of the Special Task Force constituted by the Supreme Court, anti-encroachment drive was undertaken by South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) on Wednesday at MB Road from Lado Sarai T point to Vayusenabad, Saket and CR Park market and Savitri Cinema in the South Zone area.
Encroachmnets on both sides of the roads were cleared, while 15 kilometre area was also retrieved.
In the Central Zone, encroachment removal action was taken at Nikamuddin Dargah Basti and its surroundings, wherein 10 extended pucca shades and 15 chappars/tripals were demolished. Moreover, 15 rickshaws and 21 items were seized.
In addition to the demolition, a two km stretch of footpath was also cleared for pedestrians.
Anti-encroachment drive in West Zone was undertaken from Rajouri Garden to Subhash Nagar Chowk and Mayapuri scrap market.
Encroachment removal action also took place at NH-8 main road and Rangpuri village in Mahipalpurm under Najafgarh Zone. Encroachments were removed from both sides of roads from a stretch of three km road, while encroachments covering over 1,800 sq feet land was vacated.
