Domestic help in Ggn thrashed, forcefully confined by employer's kin

Gurugram: A case of exploitation of domestic help was reported from Gurugram's Sector-23 on Monday, with a woman claiming she was thrashed by the daughter-in-law of the owner of a paying guest (PG) accommodation where she was working.
On December 22, Sunita was reportedly beaten up by over differences in opinion with the accused woman.
The victim claimed she was beaten up for refusing to provide certain services that she was not being paid for.
The victim's ordeal, however, did not end there. After beating beaten up, Sunita was locked up inside the kitchen at the PG accommodation.
Fortunately, she was able to contact police through the helpline number, which eventually led to her rescue.
The entire incident was captured in CCTV cameras.
Having sustained injuries on her legs, hands and head, Sunita is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.
Sources further claimed that despite the victim's wishes to pursue a case against her tormentor, cops are compelling her to reach a compromise and not lodge a complaint.
Cases of exploitation of maids is not new in Gurugram.
In the past, there have been numerous incidents where some maids have also committed suicide at their owners' home.
In March, a woman jumped to her death from the balcony of her employer's flat, which resulted in massive outrage and demands to punish the employers responsible for the woman to take the extreme step.
Recently, several maids had held a protest outside residential societies in Sohna Road area, demanding better working conditions.
