Desire for boy child forces couple to kidnap 4-yr-old

NEW DELHI: A couple's desire for a boy made them culprits of the law after they hatched a plan to kidnap a neighbour's 4-year-old boy in the Keshavpuram area of North West Delhi. The boy after being kidnapped by the couple was rescued by the special staff of North West police from Sanauli Border in Nepal. Police said that the boy was kidnapped by Sonam, a resident of Rupandehi Nepal and her husband on April 5, this year.

"She has one daughter and wanted to have a son which remained unfulfilled due to her health complications. The conspiracy was hatched 3 years ago, wherein she gave information to her parents in the village that she had given birth to a male child," DCP North-West Aslam Khan said.

The matter was discussed and with the help of local police of District Maharjganj in UP, the police team contacted Nepal Police and briefed them about the incident. Nepal Police conducted a raid in village Dugoliya and recovered the child and handed him to Delhi Police.
