One injured on newly opened Noida elevated road

The newly inaugurated elevated road from Noida Sector 28 to Sector 60 witnessed a near fatal accident on Wednesday where a 35-year-old man driving an over speeding SUV Fortuner rammed into a truck from behind at around 12.30 am.
The intensity of the collision was such that the SUV car was badly crushed and the driver suffered severe head injuries and was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of a nearby hospital.
The person driving the Fortuner has been identified as Rajan Tomar and is a resident of Sector 48 in Noida and was returning home from his factory located in Ghaziabad.
Tomar was under the influence of alcohol and was driving beyond the prescribed speed limit, said police officials.
"As per the doctors, Rajan was under the influence of Alcohol. It was his mistake that he crashed his Fortuner into a dumper that was moving ahead.
However, the truck driver fled the spot as he got scared of the public. We are waiting for Rajan's medical report, to register a case of drink driving against him," said
Ummed Singh Yadav, station house officer, Sector 24 police station.
His family members were informed about the incident by the police.
"Tomar has been admitted in the Intensive Care Unit and has suffered severe head injuries. He has also been injured in his abdomen and pelvis. His condition is stable but is yet to attain consciousness. He has been kept under observation," said a senior doctor.
Over speeding vehicles on this stretch is commonly witnessed with the lack of police patrolling.
