Kejriwal lays foundation stone of NDMC Smart Housing Complex at Aliganj

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday laid the foundation stone of Smart Housing Complex for New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) employees at Aliganj near Lodhi Colony and said it is the prime duty of any organisation to provide better working atmosphere to their employees and that NDMC is working forward to that direction.
"It is the prime and foremost duty and responsibility of any organisation or department to provide better working atmosphere to their employees not only in the official premises but should take care for their proper residential accommodation. And New Delhi Municipal Council has undertaken the smart initiative towards this direction," Kejriwal said.
He said that all out efforts should be made by the Council in letter and spirit so as to make NDMC a role model civic body for the other civic bodies of the country.
NDMC Chairman Naresh Kumar had underlined the details of the project and said that Aliganj Housing Complex, which was built in 1960 and housed 130 Type-I quarters, has outlived their useful life.
He added that the Council towards its commitment to improve the standards of living for their employees has taken redevelopment of the complex having 10 storied 200 Type-2 flats will be constructed.
He said that these more housing complex for NDMC employees are also likely to be started in this calendar year.
While outlining the highlights of Smart housing complex, the Vice Chairman of NDMC Karan Singh Tanwar said that the housing complex will have smart facilities like compliance to green building norms, dual ping system for water conservation, zero waste discharge complex- sewerage treatment plant in the complex, sufficient parking space, additional green space, back up electricity, grid connected and roof top solar plant.
