Duo arrested in hit and run case at MG Road

The Gurugram Police has arrested two people involved in the June 24 incident of hit and run case at MG Road.

In the incident, a Mahindra Scorpio SUV driven by the duo tried to run over the cops who tried to stop the vehicle at Sector-29 SHO Vikas Kaushik.

The duo Sachin Dayma and Tinu Nagar were arrested from Gurugram- Faridabad Road.

Their SUV has also been seized. The accused will be charged under sections of 308 (culpable homicide), 34 (crime committed in the group) and 427 (damage to public property).

According to cops, the duo has confessed their crime but denied being part of a criminal gang and stated that they were drunk and hence tried to speed off. Besides targeting police officials, the incident that occurred in the wee hours of June 24 at MG Road had resulted in causing injuries to three passers-by.

"This incident provided us with learning and the improvement we must do in our surveillance procedures," said Inspector Kaushik.
