15-year-old tried to rape 3-year-old, held

The Gautam Buddh Nagar police have arrested a juvenile for allegedly trying to rape a three-year-old girl in the slum area of Bisrakh, Greater Noida on Tuesday morning.

Love Kumar, Senior Superintendent of Police said, "The alleged offence took place on Tuesday morning. The girl has been sent for the medical examination while we have successfully nabbed the accused".

The incident occurred at around 11.30 am at Meelak slum area in Bisrakh, Greater Noida.

The accused Praveen, took the victim to an isolated hut and attempted rape.

She was spotted by a passerby who also held the accused and later he was handed over to the police.

"Following a call from the parents of the victim that a neighbour has allegedly attempted to rape their daughter, a team was sent to the spot. We have found that the accused is 15-years-old and he has been arrested ," said

Rajesh Kumar Sharma, station house officer, Bisrakh Police station.

According to the cops, the victim and the accused used to stay in the same area which is near Ryan International School.

Both of them hail from Bihar and belong to a labour class family.

Their parents have been working at a construction site in Greater Noida West.

Victim's father said "The accused is our neighbour. We have never thought that he would commit such an unnatural crime with our daughter. We have lodged our complaint and are seeking strict actions to be taken against him".

Police escorted the victim to district hospital in sector 30 where her medical test was done.

"Till now, the doctors have not released their report. We have held the accused. A case has been registered against him in Bisrakh police station and the court has sent him to the correction home. The condition of the victim is stable," said Sharma.
