DCW rescues minor girl from forced labour

New Delhi: The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) has rescued a 17-year-old minor girl, forced into domestic work, from a posh house in Ashok Vihar. According to DCW, they got a complaint in their 181 women helpline. The complainant stated that the girl was held captive in a house in Ashok Vihar. The women commission traced the minor girl.

DCW said that the girl hails from Assam. She was lured into a high paying job in Punjab by a boy who then sold her to a placement agent in Delhi. The agent sent her for domestic work to a couple`s house in Ashok Vihar The owners of the house used to beat her and harass her.

DCW Chief Swati Maliwal stated, "I am disgusted the way some people treat fellow human beings. Despite living in posh houses in the Capital, some people don't have basic human decency."
