Damaged pipeline in Basai likely to cause water scarcity in Gurugram

Various areas in Gurugram might face water shortage as the Basai water pipeline near the IFFCO was damaged due to the ongoing development activities taking place in the area.
The damaged pipeline might cause problems of water supply shortage in prominent areas of the city, such as DLF Township, Sushant Lok, South City, Sector-56 and Golf Course road.
Recently, many parts

in the city faced acute water shortage due to the closure of the water treatment plant at Basai.

The treatment plant was shut down because of the shifting of pipeline at Hero Honda Chowk and Rajiv Chowk due to construction works.

With the Basai water pipeline being a crucial link for the water supply in the city, the damage is again expected to affect the water supply in major parts of Gurugram.This is the second time in last three months that a water line has been damaged due to the hectic construction activities along National Highway 8.

Earlier too, a water pipeline was damaged at Rajiv Chowk in NH-8 due to the construction of an underpass.
