CM administers oath of office to new NDMC Chairman

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday administered the oath of office to 1989-batch IAS officer Dharmendra from the AGMUT Cadre, who will now be the Chairman of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC).

Kejriwal, who is also the Presiding Officer of the New Delhi Municipal Council, administered the oath of faith and allegiance to the Constitution of India to Dharmendra at a special meeting of the Council at Palika Kendra here in the Capital.

Before his appointment to the NDMC, Dharmendra was posted as an Additional Secretary and Financial Advisor in the Central government's Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution.

The IAS officer was appointed to the post of Chairman, NDMC after his predecessor, Naresh Kumar was transferred as the Chief Secretary in Arunachal Pradesh in July this year. Delhi Chief Secretary Vijay Kumar Dev was holding additional charge of the post until Dharmendra was appointed.
