CM addresses first ever Youth Parliament at Delhi Assembly

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal addressed the youth at the Delhi Youth Parliament workshop at Vidhan Sabha on Wednesday. The Delhi Youth Parliament is being organised from November 6-8 to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and to familiarise the youth with various legislative procedures of the assembly.

The Delhi Chief Minister said, "This is the first time that outsiders have been permitted to enter the Vidhan Sabha hall. Only the elected representatives are allowed to enter the hall, and even the bureaucrats are allowed to sit in the visitors' gallery. I hope that this Youth Parliament workshop will aid you in understanding the procedures of the legislature. I hope that you will learn about the functioning of the assembly through this workshop." Kejriwal also said, "In this workshop, you will learn about the parliamentary form of governance and the presidential form of governance in our country. I hope it will also give you a sense of right and wrong, positive and negative. Every form of governance has loopholes, but universally, democracy is supposed to be the best form of governance. We also have various departmental committees in the parliament, which hold deliberation meetings with the officers to ensure proper functioning of various departments."
