Class-X student attacked by rival group near school, dies

New Delhi: Schoolchildren of a Delhi government school turned so brutal on Wednesday that they murdered a fellow 17-year-old schoolmate just outside the school in Jyoti Nagar of North East Delhi. The boy Gaurav was punched and kicked several times on his body by the school children that he got severe internal wounds and collapsed just after the beating. He was immediately rushed to Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital by his brother but he succumbed to his injuries.

Sources said that there was a scuffle between two groups of students in the Government school; the rival group had targeted Gaurav and was eyeing an opportunity to nail him. It seems Gaurav suspected the attack and was looking for admission in another school.

Later, on Wednesday, Gaurav, a class-X student went to his school in the second shift to take the Transfer Certificate ( TC ) along with his brother when the incident took place. "As soon as my brother stepped out of the school, he was attacked by a group of 12 to 15 students who were waiting for him outside. My younger brother stayed a bit to drink water and when he came out he saw these boys severely thrashing Gaurav," said victim's brother.

It is said that the mother of the victim also accompanied the two boys to another school to secure him a seat there and while returning the boys sent the mother back and went to the government school to get the TC. "My boy was killed in 15 minutes. It all happened at around 4:30 pm. They killed my boy in just minutes,' said the mother of the victim Gaurav.

Police said that they have identified at least five boys and not all involved in the attack were from the school suggesting that some outsiders were also involved.

"We have apprehended two CCL and are investigating the case, a case under section 302 of IPC has been registered, we are looking for more accused," said DCP North East Atul Kumar Thakur.
