CISF nabs two foreign nationals with gold worth Rs 42 lakh at IGI

New Delhi: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) nabbed two foreign passengers with 1.2 kg gold converted in mobile covers for concealment worth approximately Rs 42 lakh at IGI Airport.

According to CISF on July 14, during Pre-Embarkation Security Check (PESC) at International Transfer Security Hold Area of Terminal-3, IGI Airport, CISF personnel noticed opaque image inside the bags of two foreign passengers later identified as Yinsheng Zhuang and Haipeng Chen (Chinese national), bound for Hong Kong from Delhi (via Mumbai) by flight.

"On physical checking of their bags, two mobile covers weighing about 1.2 kg (which were made of gold) painted with black paint from outside for concealment were found," said CISF.

In another case, CISF personnel detected "Red sandalwood" weighing about 130 kg worth approximately INR-19 lakh at IGI Airport on July

15.

The bags of two passengers Rahul Kumar and Mairajuddin were taken to the random checking point for thorough checking.

During x-ray screening of their bags, some suspicious images were noticed inside their bags.

The bags were diverted for physical checking. On physical checking, the bags were found filled with 'Red sandalwood' (weighing about 130 kg).
