CISF apprehends man with pistol and cash at Metro station

New Delhi: Two men were apprehended for allegedly carrying a country-made pistol and suspicious amount of cash of around Rs 1.5 lakh in their bag, while entering at Adarsh Nagar Metro station on Tuesday.

According to a Central Industrial Security Force official, "The incident was reported at around 12.20 PM at Adarsh Nagar Metro Staion during the screening of the bag at X-ray machine. Official at the machine noticed the image of pistol and cash inside a bag, later the bag was physically checked in presence of the passenger."


The bag belonged to a man identified as Bhupendra K (19) and his associate G Singh (32), residents of Firozabad in Uttar Pradesh. A country-made pistol and Rs 1,59,898 in cash was seized from the bag, the official said. The two men were handed over to the police as they failed to furnish legal documents for possessing the weapon and cash, he said. Carrying arms and ammunition in the Delhi Metro is banned under law.
